Forest and Rivers Open Studios 2018
This year, for the first time, I participated in the Forest and Rivers Open Studios, an art trail around 50 artist and makers studios spread throughout the lower Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and Severn River area. The 9-day event was an opportunity to open my new studio/gallery to a wider audience, and to get to know some of the other lovely artists in the area. It just happened to be a heatwave and with temperatures over 30 degrees most days, and suffering from jetlag I was a wilting mess for much of it, but managed not to frighten too many visitors off. With around 45 guests on preview night (one of the most glorious evenings of the year) and well over 60 during the rest of the week I was thrilled with the outcome. Lots of long chats about art, new acquaintances made, and a decent number of red dots made the hard work worthwhile. I can’t wait for next year!
